Celebrate World Down Syndrome Day with Thrive

The Self-Advocacy group at Thrive invites you to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day on Friday March 21!

Join us in celebrating by wearing mismatched or silly socks.

  • Post a photo of your team, business or family with your fun socks by 12pm

  • Tag Thrive Community Services on social media or email your photo to info@thrivegalesburg.org

  • The TOM group will showcase everyone who is celebrating with a post online

The idea of wearing mismatched socks or silly socks to celebrate Down Syndrome comes from the idea that chromosomes are shaped “like socks” and people with Down Syndrome have an extra chromosome. Mismatched socks symbolizes the additional chromosome.

Join us in the fun!
