Gordon Behrents Senior Center
Gordon Behrents Senior Center provides adult day services to persons 60 and over or those with specific needs. During the Monday – Friday 9:30am – 2:30pm, 5 hour program, participants enjoy fun memory based activities, light exercise, arts & crafts and games geared toward their needs. The smell of home hits you when you walk in the door, as the homestyle meal is cooked each day.
In between the socialization and fun, our fully trained staff are ready to assist with daily personal care activities such as showering, grooming and personal care. For family members, it is a much needed respite knowing their family member is in a safe, nurturing environment for the day.
Our specially-equipped transportation fleet, including lift vehicles offer pick up and drop off services. Most participants time at Gordon Behrents is covered through programs such as the Illinois Department on Aging, Office of Rehabilitation, Veterans Administration and WIAAA.

Costs vary with each individual, depending upon the funding sources available. These sources may include the Illinois Department on Aging, Office of Rehabilitation, Veterans Administration and WIAAA.
Alzheimer's/Dementia
All staff are trained to care for individuals with Alzheimer's and dementia. Activities and programs of interest are provided daily.
Accessibility
Our adult day-service site meets accessibility requirements, comfortably serving individuals with special needs. Staff members are available to assist with various personal needs. We also maintain a specially-equipped transportation fleet, which includes lift vehicles.
Gordon Behrents Endowment
This endowment fund was established by Thrive's Board of Directors and named after the late Dr. Gordon Behrents. The purpose of the fund is to provide financial support to Gordon Behrents Senior Center and, when possible, to other specific projects involving individuals 60 years of age and older who have some physical/mental limitations.
